Raevon Samuel, the 6-foot-4, 190-pound three-star wide receiver from Canyon Springs High School in Las Vegas, Nev., says he has around 15 scholarship offers, but admits to not having heard from any of his favorites in several weeks. "I've really only been getting mail recently," Samuel said. "I haven't talked to any coaches in about two or three weeks, but I still get letters like everyday."
He says he still favors Oregon, now solidly, over Nebraska and Rutgers, and claims all three have offered. "I love the offense at Oregon," he said. "Really I love everything about Oregon. They have great coaches and always have exciting players. I haven't committed to them yet, but they definitely are high on my list."
He says the school that is sending him the most mail is Nebraska. "I still get a lot of letters from them, but I haven't heard anything from the new coach and don't really know much about that."
Samuel still hasn't taken any official visits yet and hasn't set any up either. "I'm playing basketball right now and it's hard to find time to take trips," he said. "I hope to take a few before I decide."
He plays small forward and shooting guard for Canyon Springs and averages 15 points and nine rebounds. "I really want to play both football and basketball in college," he said. "I'd actually rather play basketball and prefer basketball, but I'm better at football and have more opportunities at football."
Samuel says that Utah State, Santa Clara and Colorado State have all offered him for basketball.
He says that most of his family is from New Jersey and that's why he lists Rutgers as a favorite.
He reports a 3.2 core GPA and took the SAT on Oct. 6, but claims he hasn't gotten his score back. He took the ACT on Dec. 8.
