Jocques Crawford (RB, Cisco, TX) - The former Cordova (TN) standout leads the country in rushing with 1, 935 yards and 19 TD's.

Not bad considering the 6' 0", 228 pounder was hurt the majority of two games in the ten game schedule.

"I hurt my hand and had to wear a cast on it," added the Conference Player of the Year, Jocques Crawford. "I am not afraid to take a lick though. I like to challenge the LB's and DB's. They do not want to hit me high. They like to ankle tackle me, and I usually run right through them. I like to run between the tackles."

The '05 Texas Tech signee had over 1, 107 yards rushing and 9 TD's as a freshman despite missing two games.

"I finished 8th in the nation that year."

Jocques' father, Xavier Crawford, was known as the "X Man" around the Memphis State circles. But is not the only person in his family to star on the collegiate level.l.

"My brother, Aaron Crawford, is the starting tailback for Texas Tech right now."

What is going on with Jocques' recruitment?

"I just took a visit to TCU this past weekend. Coach Nutt called me this weekend and wanted to know if I could visit them in January. He is making an inhome visit with me later on this week."

Did Coach Nutt recruit Crawford while he was at Arkansas?

"Yes sir. Me and Coach Danny Nutt have a good relationship. We text each other all of the time. I like the way Houston Nutt coaches. I like the way he gets the rock to his RB's. I like to get the ball 30-35 times a game. That is why I am not going to resign with Texas Tech, with my brother being there, there are not enough carries for both of us to get to the league. I just do not fit in their offense well. They are still recruiting me pretty hard though."

How did the TCU visit go?

"I liked it. They have some pretty nice facilities for a school that has to raise all of their money on their own. They do not get any money from the state since they are a private school. The school is real nice though. I liked their weight room, and I got along with their players. It was really nice. I really enjoyed myself over there."

Anybody else involved?

"I have been talking to Oregon lately. They asked for my transcript. They said they liked my game a lot, but I do not know, it is so far from home. If Ole Miss does not offer me, I am pretty sure I will end up at TCU."

Crawford is scheduled to graduate in May.
