"I am getting out in May now," added the juco 4 Star defensive
end, Devin Johnson.
Devin took in an official visit to Ole Miss in November
but their coaching staff has now changed. Where does Johnson now stand with the
Rebels?
"To tell you the truth, I was pretty much going to Ole Miss
before the fired Coach O, but I have not heard anything from them since. I do
not know what is going on with that."
Does that bother Johnson that
he has not been contacted by the new staff?
"A little bit. I am kind
of upset about that. I need to meet their new guys before I just rule them out
or anything. But they need to get in touch with me sooner than later."
Which
colleges are keeping in constant contact?
"Arizona State and Kansas State. That is really about it."
Set up any officials?
"I
am going to Arizona State on January 12th and Kansas State on January 18th."
What
about Southern Cal?
"I did not take a class that I needed to get in
school there so they are no longer an option."
What is Arizona State
telling Devin?
"Coach Lubick told me he wants to see how my grades
are this semester. They are gong to base their decision off of that. If they are
good enough, they will give me the full scholarship. I will be an ASU Sun Devil."
Have
Johnson's grades dropped pretty severely?
"No, I think it is more
based on my past performances from high school. They are a little concerned about
that, but I will get it done."
And what is Kansas State saying?
"They
already offered me. They want me to fly up there and really want me to take a
look at the school and play me at OLB."
Any recent inhome visits?
"Coach
Lubick and Erickson came and saw me Thursday and Kansas State sent in an assistant
also."
