Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure running back Darrell Scott, the top ranked player at his position nationaly by Scout.com, didn't want to spend too much time talking about recruiting on Saturday. Scott had just helped lead the Seraphs to the California D-III state championship, but still gave us a quick update on his recruitment. "It's basically down to Colorado, Florida, Texas and LSU," said Scott. "I'm not even really worried about recruiting right now. I just want to celebrate with my team." Scott gave the Seraphs reason to celebrate, rushing for 149 yards and two touchdowns and threw a 16-yard touchdown pass with 1:18 left to seal the Seraphs 35-21 win over Modesto Central Catholic. "This is what I came here to do, win a state championship," said Scott. Scott didn't have much time to relax after the game though. "He left this morning for a trip to New York to accept an award for being an all-American. The state championship was the end of a long road that he's been working for since he was six," said his mother, Alexis. "Hopefully he'll continue to work on his craft too. He's happy about the four schools left." Scott had previously visited Colorado and Texas, and is expected to visit Florida and LSU officially in January.
