Scout.com four-star prospect Chris Harper, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound quarterback from Northwest High in Wichita Kan., was relieved to announce that he would be signing a letter of intent with Kansas State, but at the same time he is all ready set to get to work on becoming the best that he can be on the next level.
“I do not look at it like it is really a stress off of my back because it is a blessing that I get to be able to get a scholarship to go to school,” Harper informed of his feelings now that his announcement is out of the way. “I really can not put it in to words how it feels.”
“Now that recruiting is over I am going to have some more time on my hands and I am going to be working hard to get better in every aspect of the game. I want to work on everything I need to work on to become a better player.”
Although all of the schools on his list offered him something unique when it came down to it he simply selected the school that felt like home.
“It all just came down to where I felt the most comfortable,” Harper explained. “I feel comfortable here. I know that this is the place for me. I just got that gut feeling that this is where I should play.”
Harper took official visits to all of his favorite schools, and he had a great time on all five, and in the end it was the relationships with the coaches and players that sealed the deal.
“The highlights of the official visits were getting to see the facilities and getting a feel for the players and the coaches,” Harper said. “ That really helps the decision making process because you get to see a lot more, but really it was not the official visit that won me over it was the relationships I have with the coaches.”
