Merced (Calif.) receiver Jarrett Sparks (6-3, 215), one of the top prospects in Northern California, has made his college choice.
"He has decided to go to Cal," said Merced head coach Rob Scheidt.
The verbal from Sparks, gives the Bears another excellent pass catcher, joining Marvin Jones, Verran Tucker and Joe Washington, who also verballed over the weekend to Cal.
Sparks had a big senior season, catching 42 passes for 934 yards and scoring 14 touchdowns.
He also handled the punting duties for Merced, averaging 37.7 yards a punt, and also averaged 35.2 yards on punt returns, including an 80-yard score.
