Q & A with Scottsdale (AZ) Notre Dame Prep RB Patrick Foley

After being named 2nd team all region as a sophomore, rushing for over 600 yards, RB Patrick Foley followed up with a great junior season, helping Notre Dame Prep to a 4A2 state title.

He rushed for 761 yards and 16 TDs this season and will be asked to carry the load next year as offensive weapons QB Sean Renfree, TE Austin Briehl and WR Brandon Hirneise all graduate.

Here is a Q & A with Foley:

Scout.com: What is your official height and weight?

Patrick Foley: "6-0 180 lbs."

What is your greatest football memory?

"Winning the state championship this year."

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

"My goal is to win another state championship and be a better player on both sides of the ball."

How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this summer?

"For this summer I am definitely going to go to a lot of camps, but not sure exactly which ones I'm going to end up going to."

What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would you like to keep improving on?

"The area of my game that I would really like to improve on is my strength and my agility, and of course always speed."

Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?

"Some of my teammates people need to watch out for is our linebacker tandem of Ryan Reardon #55 and Anthony Greco #45. Defense may not get much love but these two guys bring it and will definitely get some looks this upcoming season."

Name one teammate you really respect and why?

"I respect my teammate Anthony Greco because he is an extremely hard worker and has always persevered through injuries to be one of the leading tacklers in the state as a junior."

What are your goals regarding playing football in college?

"My goal is to play at a major division one-football program."

Would you consider staying in state to play in college?

"I would definitely consider to stay in-state to play in college especially with the way ASU has been playing and really solidifying themselves as a big time program."

What would your top 5 college choices be?

"Notre Dame, Stanford, Colorado, ASU, Alabama."

Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?

"The best player I ever played against was T.J. Campbell during my freshmen year and he was explosive and had some incredible moves."

Name one opponent who you really respect and why?

"I really respect Higley High school because they have a great program, tough players, and they give it there all."

What other sports do you play?

"I also run track."

How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?

"I think my coach would describe me as a hardworking, tough, and smart player on the football field."

What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?

"My strengths as a player are my speed, agility, and my football smarts. My weakness as a player would be my strength, which I will increase this summer."

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

"My favorite athlete is Adrian Peterson because he has worked so hard, persevered through injuries, and is a freak athlete and player."

What position do you think you will play in college?

"I don't know what I will play but I wouldn't mind playing either corner or running back."

What can a college program expect from you as a player?

"I think a college can expect a hard worker, who will be determined on and off the field to be the best player I can."

What will the main factors be when you choose a school?

"The main factors in choosing a school for me will be the level of education, the football team, and the atmosphere of the school."
