Memphis TE becoming a focal point

Jamal Mosley (TE, Memphis, TN) - The 6' 4", 220 pound Kingsburry product caught 24 passes for 479 yards and 7 TD's as a senior.

He parlayed his performances with new scholarship offers from some of the top programs despite being a long time Ole Miss commitment.

"I got offers from Kentucky, Tennessee, Michigan State, North Carolina, and Oklahoma State after I got in my last ACT test," added Jamal Mosley. "I made a 20 on it, and that is pretty much what everyone was waiting on."

Has he set up any official visits?

"Yes, I am going to either Michigan State on January 11th, but I am thinking about replacing Kentucky with them. I am going to North Carolina on January 18th, Tennessee January 25th, and Oklahoma State on February 2nd."

Where does that leave Ole Miss?

I spoke to Coach Hughes last weekend. He said to just give Coach Nutt a chance. Give it some time to get to know him. He really thinks he is going to want to keep me after he watches my film. He is almost 100% on that. I told Coach Hughes that I think all of my visits are full, but that I am still firm (with my commitment). I am still going there. I know they still do not have a tight end, so I will have chance to play early, but I want to see what the other schools have to offer and see what is best for me."

What if Coach Nutt asks Jamal to cancel one of his five visits so he can come visit Ole Miss?

"Then I will take a visit to Ole Miss. I can not turn my back on them. That is where I have been committed to my whole senior year. I just have not heard from Coach Nutt. I spoke with Coaches Hughes and Freeze, but I have not spoken to Coach Nutt. But if Coach Nutt wants me to come visit, I will replace them with another school. The whole thing is that I am just waiting on confirmation from Coach Nutt. Coach Hughes can tell me that he thinks Coach Nutt is going to want to keep me, but until I hear Coach Nutt directly tell me that I still have a spot, I have to keep my options open too."

Mosley had a chance to play in the Tennessee East/West All-Star game this past weekend at Carson Newmon and had a great experience.

"I learned that I can compete against the best in the state. It was a real good experience playing against the best best of the best. It lets you know where your game stands."

And where does Mosley's game stand?

"On the D1 level. I played with Gavin Hardin too. I found out something about Gavin. He is a beast on defense. I played receiver in the game and caught 3 balls for 68 yards."

When Jamal was asked to name some more standouts in the game, he came back to one name.

"Gavin Hardin. I am telling you. He is a beast. He had 10 tackles and an interception. He is a great leader too. I played with Ricky Holloway too. He is not too bad himself. Me and Gavin and Ricky are talking about visiting Kentucky together. We all want to stay together and play together on the next level. Me and Gavin both committed to Ole Miss a long time ago and Ricky likes Ole Miss a lot too. But you never know, we could end up somewhere else too."
