Thaddeus Brown is anxiously waiting to hear back from Notre Dame…
Brown Back From Boise
Overshadowed by two teammates headed to Notre Dame and one headed to USC, Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame running back/cornerback Thaddeus Brown hasn't gotten nearly as much attention as others on his team, but Boise State is well aware of him. The 5-11, 180-pound two-way threat took an official visit to Boise State earlier this month, and the Broncos are the leaders for Brown's services. "The trip to Boise was great and was different than I expected," said Brown. "I thought, Boise, probably not much to do, but it was a lot different. It's like a big city in a smaller city. Downtown isn't too far from the campus. I really liked it." Brown was hosted by fellow SoCal native Jeron Johnson, and the two were plenty familiar with each other. "He's from Dominguez, and we played against each other," said Brown. Johnson and his Dominguez teammates beat Notre Dame in the CIF-SS Finals when Brown was a sophomore. Brown said that the Broncos want him to come in and play cornerback, but running back isn't out of the question. "It's funny because they are recruiting me as a cornerback, but the coaches said that they lost a couple of running backs during the season to injury and had I signed last year, they would have played me this year," said Brown. "I would go in as a corner, but I could get a shot at running back." For a two-time 1,000-yard back, though, Brown said he wouldn't be crushed if he couldn't play offense in college. "It doesn't matter to me really," said Brown. "I just want to play and get on the field, whether it's defense or offense. I'm open to either." Brown said that the Broncos are his leader, but he doesn't want to commit just yet. "I'm taking my time still and want to weight my options," said Brown. "I'm supposed to take a trip to Nevada next month and maybe to UNLV." UNLV, Idaho State, Utah State and Illinois State have all offered Brown, along with Boise State, and Nevada could offer him on his visit. Brown said academically, he's all squared and wouldn't have any issues qualifying. During the 2007 season, Brown rushed for 1,004 yards and 12 touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass for the Knights.
