A Mountaineer No More
Parkersburg (W.Va.) native five-star offensive guard Josh Jenkins has informed Scout.com that he has officially de-committed from West Virginia University. "I just wanted to let you know I have de-committed from WVU," Jenkins said. "I feel like I handled this like a man. I owed it to them to wait this out, but I feel like they have taken too long to name a new coach. So, after carefully thinking about everything I decided it was best for me to open up my recruitment." "I am now looking at Ohio State, Florida State, Pittsburgh and Penn State," Jenkins explained. "I recently just started talking with Pitt and Penn State and am being recruited by Charlie Partridge at Pittsburgh and Mike McQueary at Penn State." But could the Mountaineers still be in the picture? "I talked to interim coach Bill Stewart and he thinks I am making a mistake and that West Virginia is the place for me, but it's a decision," Jenkins said. "It just depends on who they hire and how they recruit me." Jenkins who helped lead Parkersburg to a state championship is currently running and lifting in preparation for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and after he gets home he will focus on recruiting again. "I will take a few more visits and make a decision possibly on signing day or maybe even before."
