DeAndre Brown, 6-foot-6, 225-pound wide receiver from Ocean Springs High in Miss., exploded on to the recruiting scene at the Scout.com Combine in New Orleans when he showed that he was an unbelievable athlete.
Brown went on to show that he could even quite possibly be the top wide receiver in the country when he outperformed Julio Jones in the Mississippi vs. Alabama High School all-star game a couple of weeks ago.
DeVier Posey, Brice Butler and John Goodman are all phenomenal talents, and it is really saying something to be able to stand out. If you can assert yourself as the man in a practice session then there is a chance that you could be looked at as the day’s top performer.
Brown has amazing quickness and speed. It is simply scary to see someone with his size blowing past a great cornerbacks like Patrick Johnson or Boubacar Cissoko. Granted they are going to have problems checking the massive receiver, but it is pretty reasonable to think that every DB he faces for the rest of his career will have a hard time handling him.
We would go as far to say that DeAndre Brown has the most physical upside of any player that is playing in this particular All-Star game. Yesterday’s second session MVP DeVier Posey was also pretty impressed with the intangibles that Brown brings to the table.
“He is an unbelievable athlete,” Posey said “I am amazed that someone that big can run that fast”
