Wednesday Morning Notes: Red Offense
|

![]() Josh Jarboe

The Red had an intense practice today as the team went with a fully padded session which culminated with a full scimmage that had quite a bit of contact. As has been the case, the most exciting battles took place between the receivers and defensive backs. | |||

Mike Glennon had a good day today. His ball had a lot of zip on it and his anticipation and timing was good. He is at his best when cutting loose, he has a little more trouble with the touch passes, but that will come. Landry Jones and Braden Hanson both struggled with the wind today although both rebounded later in the scrimmage, making some accurate throws. The most impressive receiver on this team continues to be Josh Jarboe. It is becoming a regular thing to see him dive, extend himself and make a great catch. Later in practice, he split the seam and although Will Hill recovered, got in great position and should have intercepted it, Jarboe took it right out of his hands which drew a lot of oohs and aahs. He did have trouble with the press today though as Janoris Jenkins drove him out of bounds on one rep. DeSean Hales was getting deep and as we noted before, his biggest strength are his feet, which enable him to get clean releases against press coverage. Julio Jones still looks a little hobbled, but stopped on a dime on several comeback routes that were a thing of beauty. He did fail to come back to one that Janoris Jenkins jumped, but did a better job of attacking the ball in later reps. Joe Adams moved to wide receiver today and showed his versatility, making a couple nice catches. He is a fine athlete who shook a few would be cover men and created separation. Daryl Stonum was better at getting off of press coverage today. He ran really nice routes, including a post corner where he left his defender standing, but the pass was just barely out of his reach. His future teammate, Brandon Moore had a nice day after a quiet week. He seemed to turn up the intensity today and made a couple nice grabs. On the offensive line, Tyler Love and Ben Jones continued to be the standouts. Love has been outstanding and has solidified himself as one of the top players here regardless of position. Zebrie Sanders has been getting better as the week went along and he used his wingspan to his advantage today, keeping edge rushers away from his body. |
