Posted Jan 2, 2008

Bob Lichtenfels, Greg Powers and Alan Zepeda held a national chat Wednesday evening to discuss the happenings at the US Army All-American Bowl live from San Antonio. Here is the first part of the chat transcript

pittengineer: Bob, is jenkins OSU bound or does FSU and Pitt have a chance?
BobLichtenfels: Jenkins wants to play early, not a lock for osu
Gpowers: I would say Jenks is all OSU except for the fact he feels some pressure about the other three great linemen coming in w/ this class

SteveRyan: Baker Steinkuhler, he's the only one I want to know about
Gpowers: Baker Steinkuhler looked really good today. It was the first chance I had to see him this week and had some domnant moments. Steve, you know I love his potential as a OL, but he look really good on "D"
BobLichtenfels: Baker Steinkuhler looked like a stud at DT today
AlanZepeda: Baker has been great all week long, it is a great group of DL's and he has stood out and been consistant

parkcreek: BOB..When you get a chance...where do you see patrick johnson ending up...any hope for fsu?
BobLichtenfels: I'm hearing some buzz with Patrick and LSU

Panthers63: Bob can you talk a little bit about lucas nix and how he has performed?
BobLichtenfels: Nix never played guard before so he struggled to adjust early

bigloss: Bob, thoughts on Lucas Nix? he's looked terrible
BobLichtenfels: Nix hasn't looked terrible

Buckeye62: How are the LB’s on the West? And where do you rate them?
BobLichtenfels: Sabino-Brown Bradham
Gpowers: Mauti was pretty special today, but I personally did not see enough of him to know if he is better then Sabino, Brown or Bradham
AlanZepeda: Mauti will be our MVP for the West on the day, yesterday he was second only to Katoa, today he was better than Katoa and Katoa was pretty darn good

rage4545: Bob, how does Dan Buckner compare with Limas Sweed? Is he in the same mold or not?
BobLichtenfels: Buckner is similar to Sweed but with a bigger mouth...kid needs to chill

evildonkeys42: Bob Baldwin or D. Brown and will Baldwin be a WR in the next rankings?
BobLichtenfels: Baldwin will be a WR the kid is a freak

dangerdawg23: How has Jermaine Kearse looked?
AlanZepeda: Kearse has looked good, the quarterbacks like throwing his way and he catches everything

gr82bAnAUTiger: Bob, any idea what percentage chance Deandre Brown has of qualifying, we're hearing he's a long shot.
BobLichtenfels: I hear DeAndre may have to JC

HuskerMadHatter: Baker Steinkuhler? How does he look?
AlanZepeda: Baker Steinkuhler has been great all week long, he is constantly pushing the LOS back and makes plays, I really like him
BobLichtenfels: Baker is a beast, I like the silent but violent attitude

chuangtsu: Mike Adams the best tackle in the country?

Rosecrea: What do you think the chances of g. robinson picking the irish at some point, if not this weekend?
AlanZepeda: I think Robinson might have Notre Dame ahead a bit, he mentioned them first when I talked to him, that interview is coming tonight

evildonkeys42: Bob when is the junior combine?
BobLichtenfels: Junior combine starts Friday

SajamND: Alan...has TRob gone up against Baker at all? If so, how did it go?
AlanZepeda: SamjamND, not sure on if those two have matched up but there have been a lot of games

sheepgcw: Bob, How has Nix looked playing out of position at guard?
BobLichtenfels: Nix played well today and worked a bit at tackle as well

JKBlue: how has nick perry looked and where do you think h might go
BobLichtenfels: I think Perry stays closer to home, but USC is hard to pass up

urjc22: bob - thoughts on Goodman and Rudolph?
BobLichtenfels: Goodman has looked really good, Rudolph is the best TE I have seen in my five years here besides Tony Moeaki

PINGDADDY24: How has Kavario Middleton looked?
AlanZepeda: Middleton has looked good all the way around at the drills and in live action, he did good on the one on ones also, he said he will be playing TE next season

thedogfather: Is Hunter still a ND commit?
BobLichtenfels: Hunter has been committed to Florida for a few weeks
