Ryan Williams is a big time four-star running back recruit that is 5-foot-10, 200 pounds and boasts 4.4 speed. Williams is from the city of Manassas located in Virginia. He played his prep ball for Stonewall Jackson High School and amassed some big time numbers while there. The Hokies will be getting a player who in his junior season rushed for 1, 574 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also returned two punts for touchdowns and threw two touchdown passes as well.
Virginia Tech fans can be very happy as Williams has finally verbally made his commitment at the US Army All-American game that he was invited to and performed well in. Williams had many college suitors including schools like Boston College, Rutgers, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Virginia. However, the Hokies and their “Beamer Ball” tradition came out on top for this recruit.
“Ryan Williams is considered when healthy as one of the top running backs on the East coast,” explained East coast analyst Bob Lichtenfels. “He has very low center of gravity and thick lower body. He is very elusive and shifty and make some of the sharpest cuts you will see as a running back. He has great vision and is also a very solid receiver out of the backfield.”
