Danny White (LB, Apopka, FL) - The 6' 2", 220 pound linebacker has been a three year starter for Apopka. This past season he he collected 60 tackles and 1 interception but it was at the Central Florida All-Star game in December where he made a name for himself.
"I received Defensive MVP," added
Danny White
. "I had a bunch of tackles and a sack."
White attributes his vision as a key ingredient in making him a successful ball player?
"Probably the ability to read the play and react to the ball are my two biggest attributes."
There is still one area that Danny would like to work on.
"I just want to work on being able to get back in my drops in my pass coverage and overall tackling."
Recruiting is starting to heat up for prospects from coast to coast and White's recruitment is no different.
"Right now, recruiting is going pretty good. Arkansas, Purdue, MTSU, Iowa State, UAB, FIU, and New Mexico are all calling and have all offered me."
Danny has set up one official visit so far.
"I am going to MTSU on January 18th."
Who else is Danny in talks with about visiting?
"Purdue, Arkansas, and UAB."
What stands out about MTSU?
"I actually have a former teammate who is up there now. He told me it is a great campus and a nice area to get a good education from."
And Arkansas?
"I have been talking to Tommy Shuler (Dr. Phillips' fullback) who is also committed to Arkansas. He told me we both could have a great opportunity to play early there. Having a guy from this area going there is a big plus."
There is also another guy off of Dr. Phillips' team that is trying to pull him to another SEC school.
"(QB)
Chris Wilkes
has been talking to me a lot about going to Ole Miss. We got to know each other pretty good at the Central Florida All-star practices. He is a cool guy, and I like the style that their defense plays.
Quentin Taylor
went to Ole Miss, and we are good friends. He told that it is a great program, and I would like it a lot over there. I am hoping they make contact with me pretty soon."
What about Purdue?
"They are a good school. They have a good educational program in my major, and I also have a possibility of playing their early as well."
