Tobias Smith (OT, Columbus, MS) - The 6' 3", 285 pound offensive lineman had to deal with an injury during the season but it didn't stop him from making an impact for his team. Smith has seen his stock soar after participating in the MS/AL All-Star game. Go inside to see where Smith stands with the handful of new offers he's received.

"I got hurt the fourth game. I played one game with a broken foot. I got a MRI and didn't play until the last four games of the season," stated Tobias Smith. "We started off 3-1 and finished the year 6-5."

Who was the best team you played all year?

"I would have to say South Panola or Olive Branch."

Despite suffering an injury, the talented offensive lineman was no stranger to awards.

"I was named 1st team All-State. I was also named to the MS/AL All-star game."

How did the MS/AL All-star game go?

"It went great. We had a great defensive line. Practice was really difficult. The speed of the game was much quicker."

Did one defensive lineman stand out?

"Terrance Pope was very difficult to guard. He had a power spin move that worked every time. He was very fast and very strong."

It is no secret that the Mississippi players bonded in Mobile and Smith confirmed that many friendships were made.

"We had a good time together. I became good friends with Alonzo Lawrence and Ramon Blakeney. I stay in contact with both of them."

Smith's stock continues to rise after the MS/AL game and more and more coaches are making contact.

"I have offers from Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss, Arkansas State, Jackson, State, Alcorn State, and Alabama State. I am also hearing from South Carolina and Florida State."

Who is recruiting you the hardest?

"I am hearing the most from Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech"

Talk about those three schools.

Mississippi State - "I really like Coach Croom and the direction he has the program headed in. They are a program on the rise."

Southern Miss - "They have a new staff and their head coach has already been in contact with me. I'm exciting about what they are doing. They have a really good staff. I like Southern Miss a lot."

Louisiana Tech - "They were the first school to recruit me. They offered me first and they have been very consistent with me. I like their coaching staff a lot."

Do you have any visits set up?

"Yes I do. I will visit Arkansas State 1/11, Louisiana Tech 1/18, Mississippi State 1/25, and Southern Miss 2/1.

Does the talented offensive lineman have anything to say to potential schools?

"Tell them I will work hard and give 100%. I can't wait to play at the next level."
