Bryant May Attend Prep School

When we last spoke to Quamane Bryant he was holding two scholarship offers and was looking forward top picking up more, but the Pittsburgh, Pa., athlete recently found out that he lost one of those opportunities and may be losing a second soon. Bryant explained the situation to Scout.com this week.

Quamane Bryant and his Brashear High School teammates posted a solid record this season, but lost in the Pennsylvania Class AAAA playoffs to Erie Cathedral Prep this season, ending his career on a sour note. The 5-foot-9.5, 160-pound athlete scored five times on the ground, three times through the air, twice on punt returns, twice on kick returns and intercepted four passes this season.

“Akron filled up at cornerback, so they let me know I don’t have a scholarship to their school anymore,” Bryant explained. “Coach Pelini also left Ohio, so I don’t know what’s going on there with my spot. The coaches told me they were going to get back to me on my situation soon.”

Grades are an issue with Bryant and prep school is not out of the question at this point.

“I scored a 750 on the SAT and need to get it up to an 830 to qualify,” Bryant said. “At this point I am hearing from schools like New Hampshire, Youngstown State, Fordham and Delaware, but to be honest with you I think I’ll end up at a prep school at this point.”

If Bryant does end up going prep for a year expect him to resurface as a I-A prospect with good grades.
