Simmie Yarborough Profile
"It's a nice little town," said Simmie. "I liked it."
Yarborough was pleasantly surprised with the Northwestern State facilities.
"It's all real nice," said Simmie. "They are about to get a lot of improvemements like some new turf, a fence around the stadium and a jumbotron. I am anxious to see what it is going to look like."
Simmie enjoyed the food, fun and more food during his trip.
"We toured the whole campus and we did a lot of eating," chuckled the Brookhaven standout. "We met with the academic advisors and discussed the scholarship."
NW State is among the leaders for Simmie, but he has some options.
"I have offers from Northwestern State, Southeastern, Alabama State and Alcorn State," said Yarborough. "I am supposed to go to Alabama State this next weekend."
The visit to Alabama State may not happen. Yarborough reports that he has a deadline to meet with both of the Louisiana scholls on his offer sheet.
"Northwestern gave me to this Friday and Southeastern said I had until the 18th to let them know," said Simmie. "I really don't know what to think. I just have to make a decision. It's real stressful."
If the Mississippi All-Star is looking for advice his mother may offer her thoughts based on her own windshield time.
"My mama likes both of them, but she doesn't like that long ride to Natchitoches," said Simmie. "She likes them both. I will just have to figure all of this out."
