"It went
good," added De'Anthony Curtis. "We went 12-1 and lost in the 3rd round
of the playoffs to Greenwood. I had 119 carries for 1, 237 yards and 19 TD's.
I was named the Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year."
What most did
the 5' 9", 198 pounder improve on this year?
"Mostly catching
the ball and making things happen after contact. My blocking really improved a
lot too."
How is recruiting going?
"It is going really
good. We have opened things up, but I am still committed to Arkansas."
Who
else is involved?
"Ole Miss brought in their head coach Tuesday.
Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Texas Tech are also on me pretty
good."
How did the visit with Coach Nutt go?
"It went
real good. Coach Nutt and Coach (Tracy) Rocker and Coach (Derrick) Nix were here
and they just laid everything out for me. They talked about who they had coming
back and how they wanted to use me. It was like a reunion seeing those guys (Nutt
and Rocker) again. They have been recruiting me since I got in high school. It
was good seeing them again."
What next?
"I am visiting
Ole Miss on January 25th and I am excited about it," he said. "I will
visit Arkansas this weekend. I already visited Oklahoma State. I was supposed
to go to Tennessee last weekend, but I didn't go. I'm not sure if I will reschedule
them or not."
Where does that leave Tennessee?
"I am
not sure. Really, I am pretty much focusing on Arkansas and Ole Miss, but I am
not closing the door on anyone for good. Things could change. I just do not know
yet for sure."
What will Curtis look for while he is on his remaining
visits to find the best fit for him?
"This weekend, I am going to
check out Coach (Bobby) Petrino and see how things are at Arkansas with the coaching
change. I am still committed to Arkansas, but I am looking around. When I committed
to Arkansas, I committed to the staff that was there and the school. I want to
see how the new staff is and then I want to check out Ole Miss and see about the
school - I already know that staff. I feel really comfortable with them, so it
is all about the school when I go down there."
