It was not a huge surprise when both Jameel Owens and Stacey McGee announced their intentions to stay close to home and play for the Oklahoma Sooners. The current and future teammates are eager to carry their friendship and on the field production to the next level. Scout.com was on hand for the ceremony.

Stacey McGee, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive end will have the opportunity to play a "leo" type of position at Oklahoma while Jameel Owens, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound wide receiver will look to fill Malcolm Kelly's shoes.

Owens talks about the journey to this point.

Owens then gives a Texas Tech hat to McGee to see if hat is where he wants to go.....

While McGee tries to give Owens a Tennessee hat.

Owens asks McGee if he wants to play at either of the schools...

McGee picks up an OU hat...

Owens picks up a Tech hat again as the crowd starts to get anxious...

But to the kids delight in the background there is a Sooner hat under the Tech hat.

Both players take a second to bask in the glory of their decision.

McGee takes a few moments to meet with all of the press that had gathered.

While Owens does a call-in radio show.

Then it is Jameel's turn to meet with the press while McGee gets ready for a wrestling match.

McGee is set to square off against the a Jenks heavyweight....

And puts him down for a pin.
