Zapata was an extremely productive player who really flew under the radar in recruiting and the Midshipmen have now landed themselves a talented athlete who should be extremely effective in the option offense. “It was just a wonderful opportunity for me and my future only looks up if I go to the Naval Academy because I’ll have a great amount of opportunities after I get done my service commitment,” Zapata explained. “They really provide you with an excellent base to build on and I’m looking forward to getting an excellent education while playing football on national television and being part of such a prestigious academy.” “My brother lives an hour and a half away from campus, so I will have some family close to me with is good,” Zapata added. “My other brother graduated from the Air Force Academy and told me that it would definitely be in my best interest to go into the military as well because it really helped him, so I think I made a very good decision for my future.” Zapata will take his official visit to Annapolis on Friday and stay through Sunday. |
