Morro Bay (Calif.) defensive end Jerome Long will not have a difficult time remembering his college coach's name.
That's because Long will be playing for Chuck Long and San Diego State, having committed over the weekend.
"After Jerome's visit to San Diego State last weekend, he committed to the Aztecs," said his mother Julie. "We're all pretty excited!"
The commitment from Long gives the Aztecs a versatile two-way threat, as Long can play both tight end and defensive end with his 6-5, 250-pound frame.
Long, though, likely projects to defensive end in college.
"He will start training with them this summer," said Julie.
Long finished the 2007 season with 68 tackles and 4.5 sacks as well as a blocked punt and fumble recovery.
