"I just got back from Alcorn State," stated, Josh Chestang.
I went on an unofficial visit to check out their school. How did the visit
go?
"It went well. They have a nice school. There were several other
people there I recognized. Desmond Johnson was there. I don't him personally but
I know he's a good player."
How is recruiting going?
"It's
going good. Southern Miss and Ole Miss are the main two schools recruiting me.
I had an in-home visit with Southern Miss Sunday. Coach Fedora and Coach Hughes
came by the house."
What types of questions did you have for them?
"I
had questions about the philosophy of their offense and defense. I also wanted
to know about academics and what type of support they will provide for me. My
parents also asked about the academic support."
How did the coaches
respond to your questions?
"They were prepared to answer everything.
They broke down all of the questions asked by me and my parents."
Do
you have an official visit set up with Southern Miss?
"Yes, I'm going
this weekend (1/18)"
Talk about Ole Miss and how they are recruiting
you.
"I am still verbally committed to Ole Miss. Coach Nix and Coach
Vaughn came by school a couple of days ago to make sure that I was still taking
my visit (1/25). We talked recruiting and I let them know who else was recruiting
me. Right now, I need to talk things over with my mom and make sure I choose the
right school."
Do you still plan on making your visit to Ole Miss?
"Yes,
I think so. Things could change, but I plan on making the trip."
Of
those two schools, who is recruiting you hardest?
"I would probably
say Southern Miss."
