Jacob Feagai, the 6-foot-3, 305-pound three-star defensive tackle/offensive tackle from Piedmont Hills High School in San Jose, Calif., finished his senior season (6-5) with 40 tackles, six sacks and two fumbles caused.
"I have good quickness off the ball and good speed for my size," Feagi said. "I like to play very aggressive, but I want to work on my footwork, especially when I play offense."
He benches 375 pounds and has a 24-inch vertical jump.
Feagi claims to have been offered by California and San Jose State. He favors Oregon slightly over Cal, Arizona State and San Jose State.
"I love the program at Oregon," he said. "They are always a great team and I like the coaches a lot. They've been recruiting me a lot recently and I talked with their defensive coordinator about two weeks ago. He says they really like me, especially that I can play both ways. I'm trying to set up a visit with them for next weekend (Jan. 25)."
Feagi hasn't taken any official visits yet.
"Cal offered me during the fall, but I really haven't heard from them in a few months," he said. "I like the school overall and the coaches seem to have a great relationship with their players. I was at the USC game and that was a lot of fun."
The factor that may have scared Cal or others is his academics. Feagi claims to have about a 2.8 GPA, but has not received a qualifying SAT score. "I think I'll qualify, but I'm not sure yet," he said. "I know that my grades are holding me back right now and I may not sign on signing day. I need to get my grades up."
