Quinton Pierce Profile
Davidson High School standout Davidson Pierce officially visited Hattiesburg this past weekend and on the trip he made the decision to become a Golden Eagle.
"I committed to Southern Miss on Sunday," said Pierce. "I just like the family atmosphere there and the new staff coming in. I like the new direction they are going, so I decided that was where I wanted to be."
Quinton will not take any other official visits and is solid in his decision. In the end the decision to attend Southern Miss was a group decision.
"My Mom and Dad went with me," said Pierce. "They liked it up there and they had fun. They felt at home too, so they supported my decision 100%."
Coach Fedora and the USM offensive staff see Quinton as a wide receiver, a position the Alabama standout believes he can play to move the team forward.
"I feel like I can come in and make an early impact," said Pierce. "I am going to try to come in and help a lot."
Quinton was most impressed with the recent renovations and upgrades to the Golden Eagle football facilities.
"They are adding onto the stadium and making it bigger," said Pierce. "They are making the weight room bigger. They are almost rebuilding up there. It's going to get real big up there and I just want to be part of it."
Quinton chose Southern Miss over offers from Air Force and Louisiana.
