Stein Makes Commitment

Carpinteria (Calif.) linebacker Eric Stein has committed to play at Navy, following his visit to Annapolis.

"I chose Navy over offers from Princeton, UC Davis and Arizona," said Stein. "I took my official visit this weekend and I knew it was where I wanted to spend the next four years."

Stein is one of three known commits to the Midshipmen from the West.

"As far as football goes they have a very strong program, the coaches are great and the facilities are the best I've seen. Another factor for me is the quality of the education I'll be getting and the opportunities that come with a degree from the Naval Academy," said Stein. "Spending time with current players also really helped me to decide. My decision is solid."

Stein's senior season saw him earn all-league first team honors, all-Santa Barbara County and Team MVP honors.

Defensively, Stein had 118 tackles, nine sacks and two fumble recoveries. Offensively, he had 38 catches for 662 yards and four touchdowns.
