Glenn Carson is one of the most heavily recruited players in the state of New Jersey so far for the Class of 2009 and the offers continue to roll in for the linebacker with three more recently arriving from Northwestern, Stanford and Syracuse. Many other programs have contacted his school to talk about offering and Carson should be expecting many more over the next several weeks. | |||

Glenn Carson picked up offers from Syracuse, Stanford and Northwestern recently, adding to the four the 6-foot-3, 220-pound middle linebacker already had from North Carolina State, Maryland, Boston College and Rutgers. The Manahawkin, N.J., native is in the thick of wrestling season right now, a sport that he is ranked No. 1 in the country in his weight class in, and is looking forward to more offers coming through in the near future. “I am pretty fired up about the Stanford offer,” Carson exclaimed. “I’m really looking forward to checking out the campus because everyone I talk to about it is telling me that I won’t ever want to come home after visiting there. It was a really big deal to me for them to come all the way across the country to give me a scholarship offer. Stanford has excellent academics, a good football tradition and a degree from there can take you big places.” “Northwestern is another school that offers a great combination of academics and athletics,” Carson stated. “They just came into the picture recently, so I haven’t gotten to learn as much about them as I would like, but I know they are a very prestigious school and have a beautiful campus. They also play against Big Ten competition which I would like.” “I really like the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Syracuse and when I went to camp this summer there I loved the fire and upbeat nature in which the linebackers coach coaches,” Carson said. “His style of coaching is right up my alley and I am looking forward to getting up there and checking them out.” Penn State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Connecticut, Notre dame and Michigan are some other schools that have been in contact with the Southern Regional High School linebacker. According to him and his coaches, it sounds like Pittsburgh will be the next school to offer him. |
