The doors to Eastmoor Academy head football coach James Miranda have been busy over the past two weeks. With one of the top prospects left on the board, Miranda knows the pressure is heating up on his young player as college coaches are making their in-home visits and even a new school showing interest.
"It's been crazy here," said Coach James Miranda of Eastmoor Academy. "Even today Colorado called and they want to see if they can get into the picture. They will be coming in for a visit on Wednesday from what they told me today. I don't know if Colorado is even a possibility at this late date but they wanted to come in for a visit."
While his star player Isaiah Pead is being sought by several, the list hasn't changed much for the 5-foot-11 running back.
"Michigan's head coach Rich Rodriguez and Coach Bruce Tall have already visited. They are looking at getting him in for an official visit but have yet to work out the details. Cincinnati's head coach is to visit later today and Indiana will be later this week. Pittsburgh has also been in so you can see it's been very busy here."
When asked about all the interest Isaiah is receiving the coach pointed out one major detail.
"Isaiah got his test score so he'll be a qualifier and that was something we feel was holding some school back. He got everything together and we're very proud of him. Isaiah is a very special young man who was a team captain for us and he's got super talent. At the next level it's going to be fun to watch because the defensive back coach is going to want him, the running backs coach is going to want him and the special teams coach will want him. I feel he'll be a special player on special teams and could play early on them."
While the coach claims no clear leader, he knows the days are counting down and Isaiah will have to make the choice of a lifetime.
