Lincoln Christian School in Tulsa, Oklahoma is an up and coming program in the prep ranks, but they have not yet been established as a hot bed for division one type of talents, but 2009 prospect Cody Wilson should insure that college football coaches will be stopping in plenty over the next year. | |||

Cody Wilson, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound linebacker from Lincoln Christian School in Okla., has a great frame and on film he seems to play the game with a lot of passion Wilson played all the snaps of his junior season on what amounted to broken foot. He thought he had a high ankle sprain, but found out midway through the season that he had been playing with a cracked navicular bone. “At first I did not think it was that serious,” Wilson said of the injury that is now nearing 100 percent. “Around the fifth game of the season it actually snapped and then I found out it was a broken bone.” Because of his limited snaps there may not be as many people out there that have had the chance to watch Wilson perform. But that will certainly change in the next year as division one schools are sure to stop in and check up on his progression. Wilson broke down some of his strongest on the field intangibles for those that would want to know a little more about his strengths as a player. “I would probably say that I am tenacious,” Wilson began. “When I hit I go for the kill shot. I don’t go just to wrap people up. I go to bring the wood. “I am very coachable and I try to play with-in the system. I try to use my abilities to just make the play. That is what it is all about…making the play.”
Wilson has a great football role model in his own home as his father, Curtis Wilson, played center for the Missouri Tigers earned second team All-Big 12 honors his senior season and was then drafted by the New England Patriots and played four years in the NFL. Wilson has learned a lot from his old man, but at the same time he tries to take bits and pieces from many other top NFL talents and incorporate them in to his own game. “I like to take the best I see from everybody. I try to take bits and pieces from a lot of peoples games and piece them together to make me who I am.” The APR changed the way many colleges look at recruiting, but Wilson will have no trouble on that front as he currently boasts a 4.14 GPA and has already scored a 28 on the ACT when he took the test as a sophomore. Wilson is just starting to break out on the recruiting radar, but he has a good target list to begin with and he will try to get his name out to programs by hitting a number of camps and exposure events in the upcoming weeks and months. “I would be interested in any Big 12 schools, Tulsa, SMU, or any schools like that,” Wilson explained. “I have a high interest in any schools in the Midwest and schools close to home. The camps I am going to for sure this year so far are SMU, Tulsa, and Missouri.” “At the camps I just want to show them what I got. I want to come and show what I can do as a player. You can not give them a lot of lip service, I think you just need to go in there and give it your best shot.” Cody Wilson Introduction Cody Wilson Junior Highlight Package Film One- Watch Video Film Two- Watch Video
