West Scranton High School offensive tackle Eric Shrive has now picked up offers from Syracuse, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh, Penn State, Temple, Boston College, Illinois, Miami, Notre Dame, Connecticut and Rutgers . The 6-foot-7, 280-pound offensive tackle did not get to meet with the latest two schools that offered him this week, but did speak about them with Scout.com. “Temple was in school yesterday to meet with my coach and their Head Coach Al Golden said that they liked me on both sides of the ball,” Shrive said. “I think they are definitely headed in the right direction and I’m interested to see what they can do over the next few years with a great staff in place.” “Boston College offered as well and the first thing that jumps out at me is their great tradition of having quality offensive linemen,” Shrive stated. “They had a great season and are a BCS level team that has been to seven or eight straight bowl games I believe. Coach Mike Siravo was the person who met with my head coach.” “Penn State verbally offered a while ago and I like that they bring a great football tradition to the table and are a very prestigious program,” Shrive explained. “They have a ton of talent there, just brought in another good recruiting class and have a great coaching staff that has been together for a long time. Penn State just has a lot of things going for them. I went to their home game against Notre Dame this season and the game day atmosphere there was just awesome, as are their fans.” Shrive has a max bench of 350 pounds, a max squat of 450 pounds and boasts a 3.44 core GPA. |
