Long Snapper Sets Visit

Glendale (AZ) Mountain Ridge long snapper sets first official visit

Scout.com has learned that Nebraska will bring in long snapper Brandon Gabbard from Glendale (AZ) Mt. Ridge HS on an official visis this weekend.

Gabbard attended camp in Lincoln this summer and said, "It was awesome up there."

Since the turnover in coaches, Gabbard (6-4 260) had not heard much from the Huskers but says that "Coach Osterhaut started talking to my coach this week and they told me a half hour ago that they will bring me up on an official visit on Friday."

Nebraska has not extended a scholarship offer at this time and Gabbard feels that it is unlikely that they will, "They have two seniors and said they probably won't offer unless I beat them out."

He feels that it is more likely that they will ask him to walk-on and compete for the starting job once those seniors graduate.

Gabbard does not hold any offers as of now and an offer from the Huskers does not guarantee that he will comitt on the spot. "I would have to come home and talk it over with my parents," Gabbard says.

Arizona State is another program that has shown some interest.

Brandon was recently ranked the #12 long snapper in the country by Chris Rubio of www.chrissailerkicking.com.
