Hoboken High School is stocked with talent this year and one of those players vying for a chance to play at the Division I-A level is defensive lineman Bernardo Nunez. He was a very productive player for the team this season and because of that is already being recruited by a few schools in the Northeast. | |||

At 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, Hoboken, N.J., native Bernardo Nunez could add weight and play defensive end at the next level or stand up and play the linebacker position. Right now he has three programs recruiting him, but also has some thoughts on his own of where he would like to go and they’re all in the same state. “Right now I’m being recruited by Rutgers, Temple and Syracuse,” Nunez explained. “I really like Florida, Florida State and Miami and am hoping that they recruit me because that area is where defensive players are made.” Nunez didn’t know much about the Orange, but did talk about Temple and Rutgers a bit. “Rutgers has a great coach in Greg Schiano and is building a good program,” Nunez said. “The fact that it’s close to home definitely helps a little bit and I like that they’re renovating the campus to make it nicer. They’re an up and coming program that I am definitely interested in.” “I camped at Temple last summer and most learned technique while I was there. I got to see how the coaches worked and interacted with the players and prospects and also saw the campus which was alright.” Nunez made 130 tackles, 19 sacks and forced two fumbles as a junior. |
