Zakee Bashir, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker from Walnut Ridge High in Columbus, Ohio has has been hearing from a number of schools recently and he could be on the verge of some scholarship offers.
“Today I heard from Stanford, Clemson, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Indiana,” Bashir explained. “Wisconsin said that they will be coming out to the school.”
“Wisconsin is liking me a lot and liking what I am doing on the field and in my highlights. I think they may be close to offering and Clemson is as well. Before I can get offered I have to get my ACT score. I took the ACT last Saturday and I get the results back on the 22nd. I feel real good about it.”
Bashir will also be taking his first junior day visit to Northwestern the day after he receives his ACT results and he may try to make it out to another school while he is in the area.
“My first junior day trip will be to Northwestern on the 23rd,” Bashir informed. “I may try to get up to see Wisconsin while I am in Chicago. It will not be for a junior day, but just an unofficial visit. I am pretty fired up about the junior day. My coach told me I am the first player he has had get invited to one.”
Bashir is not thinking favorites at this pointing time as he just wants to concentrate on his studies and his off-season workout program so he can get as many options as possible.
“I am just waiting to get that first offer.”
