Indianapolis Cathedral OT Kyle Koehne is one of the more sought after prospects in the Hoosier State. Combining solid athleticism with good technique and fundamentals, Koehne drew two early offers from Iowa and Indiana and recently he added a couple more. "I have offers from Cincinnati and North Carolina State too now," he said, "and I'm being recruited pretty hard by Purdue, Nebraska, Ohio State, Boston College and a few others." Right now, the 6'6, 300-lber is in the midst of a basketball season where helps control the paint for the Irish, but he is still finding time to get out and check out prospective football schools. "I visited Iowa, I was really umpressed with them. It was very nice, they had nice facilities, nice coaches. I've been to Indiana a lot, I've been to a couple of their games. They have great facilities and are getting a new add-on which will be really nice and I was really impressed with how organized they are. I'm going up to Notre Dame this weekend and I have a bunch more trips planned for March 1 and 2." Last season, Koehne played strongside tackle, meaning he would periodically switch bewteen the left and right sides based on the play call. He says the schools recruiting him have not indicated to him whether he will be a left or right tackle at the next level. What he does know are when he would like to commit and what will go into his decision. "I would like to commit in the summer or before the football season starts," he reported, "playing time right away doesn't affect me. I don't want to go too far away, but it will depend more on other things. The biggest things are coaches and I want to meet the players and see if I like them, facilities and also if it sounds like they have good acadmics." |
