Bowers Bulking Up

Ona, W.V., isn’t too far from Marshall University, so it was no surprise when Cole Bowers picked up his first scholarship offer quickly from the Thundering Herd, however he is still waiting for other schools to step up their amount of interest. After sending his film out a few months ago more schools have been in contact and he will be taking visits in the spring.

Cabell Midland High School offensive tackle Cole Bowers has been working hard in the weight room over the past few months and is also still growing, recently measuring in at a stout 6-foot-5.5, 280 pounds. Several new schools have jumped into the mix with him as he explained to us this week.

“Virginia just invited me down for camp there this summer,” Bowers said. “Florida also just sent me an invitation to their camp as well after they watched my film. Purdue is another school that has asked me to come out and visit recently.”

“West Virginia just asked me to come out for their spring game to meet with the coaching staff and also wants me to camp there this summer,’ Bowers explained. “I am going to Marshall in two days to meet the new offensive coordinator and have also been hearing from Tennessee and Michigan State as well.”

Bowers reports a 350 max bench press, 465 max squat and 270-pound power clean. He also carries a 3.7 GPA in the classroom.
