Four-star wide receiver Je’Ron Stokes continues to add offers at a fever pitch and the last three came in this week from Texas Tech, Tennessee and Maryland. With so many offers in hand it has become hard for Stokes to even identify a top seven at this point, so pay little attention to that list as all of his schools seem to be about dead even right now in terms of interest. | |||

Just for the record, Northeast High School wide receiver Je’Ron Stokes now holds written scholarship offers from Connecticut, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Tennessee, Maryland, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Carolina State, Penn State, Texas Tech, Pittsburgh, Michigan State and Syracuse. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder also has a verbal offer from UCLA that he will be checking on to see if and when it will become written. “I just wish I could list more then seven schools because I don’t want any of the programs to feel like I am not interested,” Stokes said. “I like everyone right now and am just researching all of these programs to see what they have to offer me in terms of education and football.” The latest three to jump into the mix for the Philadelphia, Pa., native were Texas Tech, Tennessee and Maryland. “I actually took an unofficial visit to Tennessee when I was a freshman in high school with my pastor and my friend Mark Jones who played there before going to the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,” Stokes explained. “I loved it down there because the stadium was absolutely packed and the fans there get really crazy. The facilities were top of the line and I met Head Coach Phil Fulmer who was very nice to me. I got to meet some of their players while I was there and watch them practice. It was just a great experience.” “I go to Maryland for nationals in track a lot and like that the campus is pretty close to home,” Stokes stated. “One of their coaches came in to my school to see me and told me that he liked what I did and thought I would fit in really well with what they’re trying to do down there. Maryland is a great program that offers good academics, so I am definitely interested in them.” Stokes will be participating in the national 7-on-7 combine in Akron, Ohio hosted by New Level Athletics and will be coached by Scout.com Recruiting Manager Bob Lichtenfels in the game. |
