"I have two (offers) from Vanderbilt and Kentucky," Wesley Johnson said from Nashville, (Tenn.).
In addition to those offers he is also beginning to get interest from other schools in the conference.
He explained, "I'm receiving mail from a lot of schools. Alabama just called my coaches and said they were real interested, so I'm probably going to go there for their Junior Day."
For now Johnson is excited about his two offers and shared his thoughts on each school.
Vanderbilt: "I like that it's a small school. It's like my high school. It fits my comfort, and it's about 10 minutes from my house. That makes it pretty good. They're constantly getting better. From the way the coaches have been talking to me it seems they're on the rise."
Kentucky: "I haven't talked that much with Kentucky. They have offered me, but I guess an offer from any SEC school is an honor."
Even though he doesn't know much about Kentucky when asked about whether he plans to visit he replied, "Definitely."
"Comfort level with the school. The academics have to be good, and it should be a program that I feel like we're going to do well while I'm there and one I can contribute to," Johnson explained of what he wants out of the school he chooses.
When describing his playing ability he said, "All the coaches I've talked to told me I play the game the way it's supposed to be played. I have a motor that doesn't stop."
Johnson's goal is to defend his team's state championship title as he explained, "Our expectation is to go 13-0 and win state again. Individually I'm going to go both ways this year and help the team as best I can. I plan to step into a leadership role this year."
