Matt Couch, a 6-foot-2.5, 262-pound center from East Pennsboro Area High School has been in contact with several schools by phone at this point an has taken one visit for a junior day already at Buffalo. This weekend he will be on campus at Penn State to see what the staff thinks of him. “I’ll be at Penn State this weekend for junior day,” Couch stated. “I’m just excited to get there because my father played there and I have a lot of family in the area. I have obviously been there dozens of times, but to go up as a recruit is different and special.” “We sent film to Coach Larry Johnson a while back and he said he would be showing it to Coach Dick Anderson soon to see where I stand,” Couch added. “If they offered me I definitely wouldn’t commit right away because I’d like to enjoy the recruiting process and look at other schools I’m interested in, especially the Ivy Leagues.” Stanford, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Purdue, Michigan State, Syracuse and West Virginia have also been in touch with Couch. “I have gotten some evaluations back already and schools say they love my technique and like that I’m only 16 years old and still growing. They want to see me at camp and all project me as a center.” As a junior, he was an honorable mention All-Conference pick and was named first-team All Mid Penn. |
