Field and Classroom Are Key for Seals
La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat linebacker Brent Seals (6-1, 190), is still waiting for his first scholarship offer, but the interest in Seals has been picking up. "I don't have an offer yet, but I've been getting interest from North Carolina, Oregon, Colorado, Cal, Stanford and UCLA the most," said Seals. Seals said he's been invited to four Junior Days to date, at North Carolina, Oregon, Colorado and Cal, and he's planning to attend the latter three. At this point, Seals said he's working on an early top seven schools. "My top schools are Stanford, Cal, UCLA, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, North Carolina and Colorado," said Seals. "I'll probably take some time before deciding. I'm open to going anywhere right now. I don't have a preference for one school." Seals admitted he does like the in-state schools, with academics being another significant factor for him. "The most important thing is the academics," said Seals. "It has to be a good academic school. That's why I like Stanford, Cal and UCLA so much." Many recruits say academics are important, but Seals has proven it in the classroom, carrying a 4.5 GPA and scoring a 1990 on his first try on the SAT. "I'm hoping to get over 2000 if I take it again," said Seals. This spring, Seals is planning to attend the New Level/Scout Pass Camp in Las Vegas, camps at Stanford and Cal and potentially a camp at North Carolina. When describing his style of play, Seals said he's a playmaker. "I'm not the biggest hitter, but I have a way of always making the big play," said Seals. During his junior season, Seals had 108 tackles and two sacks and, on offense, ran the ball for 235 yards and four touchdowns.
