Shaw High School in Cleveland has seen its share of top players and Darwin Cook is next in line. The 6-foot-0, 180-pound athlete (projected WR/DB) who has been timed at 4.49 in the forty is hearing from several programs from across the country including Georgia Tech, Alabama, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Purdue and Ohio State. But while all of these programs have been showing Cook a lot of attention Cook picked up his first offer on Sunday.
“I took a Junior Day visit to Cincinnati and they offered me a scholarship,” said Cook. “It was a really good visit and I liked a lot of what I saw when there. They have really good things going on there and I came away very impressed.”
While Cook talks with a soft voice it doesn’t take much to get him excited when the subject comes to football.
“I was very surprised to be offered and didn’t expect it when I went there. I just didn’t think I’d get a scholarship, it’s a dream come true.”
While he’s still excited about the offer, Cook said he’s in no rush to end his recruiting and will be comparing every school he visits with his trip to Cincinnati.
