Marlon Anthony is a 6'5 and 185 pound WR at Kell HS in Marietta, Ga. Last season he grabbed 60 receptions for 969 yards, with 10 TD receptions. He has been in close contact with Auburn and right now he’s thinking that’s exactly where he’d like to be in the fall of 200909.
“I’ve talked to
Auburn
more than any other school,”
Marlon Anthony
said. “I have a good chance of getting an offer from them. They’ve said that they’ve seen my film and have liked what they saw in my game. I’ll be going back down there this weekend for junior day.”
Auburn is definitely at the top of the list for Anthony, but he’s not wanting to close any doors for other schools.
“I’ve been a fan of Auburn since I was in the fifth grade. I like their style of offense. I’ve already been there for a junior day. I watched them scrimmage and got to see a lot of the campus. If they were to offer me a scholarship I would probably sign with them. Behind Auburn I like
South Carolina
. I like their offense too. I think that I would fit in great there. After that I’d say that I like
Florida
,
Georgia
, and probably
Mississippi State
.”
Anthony has not only spoken with Auburn, but has also been in contact with several schools up to this point. A school just down the road from him has also shown him a lot of attention.
“I’ve talked to
Tennessee
, Florida,
Michigan State
, and
Alabama
.
Purdue
,
Georgia Tech
, and
Maryland
have all been to my school to talk to me personally. Of All the schools that visited, Georgia Tech was the one that seemed the most interested.”
Anthony has set a few goals for next season.
“My main personal goal is to have at least 1,000 yards receiving. I was very close to that last year. I want to win a state championship. My other big goal is to receive an offer from Auburn.”
Anthony’s coach, Derek Cook, speaks very highly of his talented wide receiver.
“He runs very good routes. When the ball is in his vicinity he’s going to come down with it. He’s much faster than he looks. He’s 6'5 and covers a lot of ground with his strides. He has the speed to break away from defenders,” Derek Cook stated.
Anthony also excels in Basketball and is playing in the Georgia 5A classification, which has become one of the best classifications for Basketball nationally. There was a nationally ranked team (Wheeler) in Kell’s own region. This year Anthony averaged 10.2 Points, 7.2 Rebounds, 3.1 Blocks, and 2.1 Steals.
