Getting to know wide receiver Jeremy Dang from Peoria (AZ) High School

One of Arizona's top returning receivers is Peoria High's Jeremy Dang. Dang and teammates Jamal Miles (RB) and Vinnie Spano (QB) return for what looks to be one of the most explosive offense's in 4A.

Here is a Q & A with Dang.

Scout.com: What were your stats/honors from last season?

Dang: "800 yards, 32 catches, 9 TDs and my longest catch was 82 yards."

What is your official height and weight?

"6-2 209 lbs."

What is your greatest football memory?

"Getting our offensive squad together and fighting back against Cactus in the 2nd half and outscoring them 22-7."

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

"1- State championship, 2- sign to a D1 school, 3- 1st team all state and 4- 1500+ yards."

How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this summer?

"I lift 6 days a week, I maintain a strict diet, I attend 1 on 1 speed training with my trainer Brian Childress, I will be attending the ASU camp, Boise State camp. and I am sure I will be attending a few others."

What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would you like to keep improving on?

"I have worked on my route running and concentration. I would like to keep improving on my speed."

Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?

"On offense, my QB Vincent Spano and RB Jamal Miles. On defense, SS Jeremy Sawyer and LB Anthony Harrington."

Name one teammate you really respect and why?

"Our OL Anthony Shaw (signed with Glendale Community College). He always is focused and maintains a positive attitude in all situations."

What are your goals regarding playing football in college?

See the field freshman year, Start sophomore, never look back.

Who is currently recruiting you? Do you have any offers yet?

"No official offers yet, however I have been contacted by ASU, Boise State, Dartmouth, Stanford, Utah and UNLV."

Would you consider staying in state to play in college?

"It crosses my mind every now and then to stay home with my friends and family and I wouldn’t mind staying in the PAC-10."

What would your top 5 college choices be?

1. Boise State

2. ASU

3. San Diego State

4. Stanford

5. Utah

Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?

"Jermaine Williams (sigend with Arizona State, now at Glendale Communtiy College), he was unstoppable and had great size."

What other sports do you play?

"Basketball and track."

What are your best max lifts in the bench, squat, power clean and 40 yard dash?

"Bench- 335, Squat- 455, Power Clean- 265 and 40- 4.67 electronic."

How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?

"Hardworking, dedicated, leader and made for football."

What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?

"My strengths are my size, athletic ability, knowledge of the game and desire. My weakness could be my speed."

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

"Terrell Owens because of his miraculous recovery after his ankle surgery, shows his love and dedication to the game. On top of that he is the league's best receiver."

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

"Trust in God."

Tell us what can we expect from your team this season?

"High powered offense with experience and chemistry."

What position do you think you will play in college?

"Wide receiver or possibly safety."

What can a college program expect from you as a player?

"A college program should be expecting talent and dedication."

What is your GPA and SAT/ACT score?

"3.8 GPA (unweighted) I am taking the SAT and ACT in April."

What will the main factors be when you choose a school?

"Football history, education and location."
