Kadeem Wise is a defensive back prospect at Berkmar HS in Lilburn, Ga. Last fall he put up huge numbers totaling 99 tackles, 2 interceptions, and he also had 8 receptions for 195 yards on offense. He has solid size at 5'9 and 171 pounds, and feels that aggressiveness is what makes him a great player.
“My press coverage and my makeup speed are definitely my strengths,” said
Kadeem Wise
. “My tackling ability is very good. I have good closing speed. I haven’t been timed at any combines yet but I think that I run in the 4.5's. I have good speed.”
Wise has been in contact with several schools from around the southern region. One school has shown more attention to Wise than any other.
“I’ve been in contact with
Virginia Tech
,
Georgia Tech
,
Miami
,
Alabama
, and
Vanderbilt
. Most recently I've been in contact with
Wake Forest
. Georgia Tech has come after me the hardest. They’ve been sending me a lot of mail. I’ve been in touch with Coach Monken (Jeff Monken - Georgia Tech) a few times. He wants me to come to their spring practice in March. He wants me to see their weight training facility, and everything that the school has to offer.”
He has two junior day visits planned in the coming months.
“I’m going to
Auburn
’s junior day, and I’m going to Vanderbilt’s junior day. I don’t have any others planned just yet. I know that I will go to other places, though.”
Which schools currently lead for Wise?
"It's Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, and Miami. Those are in the order of my interest."
Wise is patiently awaiting his first offer.
“My coach thinks that offers should come sometime soon. I know that I have what it takes to play major college football. I have the skills, size, I can read coverages very fast, and I can break on the ball. I know that I can play.”
Location won’t factor in any decision for Wise if and when the offers come.
“I don’t care where the school is at. It doesn’t matter how far it is, or what the weather is. I’ll play anywhere. Where a school is doesn’t matter to me.”
Kadeem Wise also competes in track for Berkmar HS in the sprinting events. Scout.com will keep you updated on Wise through the '09 recruiting cycle.
