Safety Dijon Benton is hearing from some pretty prominent college football programs. But he has yet to reel in his first official scholarship offer. He has a nice frame and it could only be a matter of time before he pulls down number one. | |||

Dijon Benton, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound safety from Bryant High in Ark., was not happy with some of the times that he posted at the FCA Combine, but he is using the event as a learning experience so that he can do better at some later events. “It helps me to get ready for other combines that I want to go to in the future,” Benton informed. “It helps me prepare myself so I know what to expect. I am going to train hard the next couple of months and I expect I will perform that much better.” Benton is hearing from a number of prominent college football programs, but it is the home-state school that seems to be the most interested. “Arkansas,” Benton responded when asked who is recruiting him the hardest. “I have been getting new ones from Tennessee and Alabama. Michigan State sends me a lot (of letters) and Georgia Tech.” “Yes sir,” Benton said about the possibility Arkansas will offer. “As long as I can get a 4.5 in the forty before July the 19th they will offer me a full scholarship. They are looking at me as a safety.” “My true position is safety I believe. I love safety a lot. I like safety because you can be a headhunter and patrol sideline to sideline. You can get picks and knock people out.” Benton plans to attend summer camps at Arkansas and Tennessee and will try to make it to Notre Dame as well.
