Razorbacks Top McGregor's List
In 2008, recruiting has picked up tremendously for Aldine (TX) Eisenhower running back Curtis McGregor. Since the last time he spoke with Scout.com, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound McGregor has pulled in a few offers. "I have offers from Texas Tech, Arkansas, Arizona, and a few others," McGregor said. "I also get a lot of stuff from Minnesota, Oregon, and UCLA." As it stands right now, Arkansas appears to be the early favorite for McGregor. But because of his commitment to basketball, he has not had the chance to go there (for football) or anywhere else. But before it is all said and done, McGregor will make the necessary rounds. "I am for sure going to Arkansas, LSU, and Oklahoma," McGregor said. His first encounter with Arkansas goes back to when he was in Fayetteville for a basketball tournament. While on campus, he noticed a few faces that seemed familiar. And these were two guys McGregor has known about and thought highly of. "I saw Darren McFadden and Felix Jones when I was up there for a tournament," McGregor said. "I like what both of them did there. And I also like the kind of offense they run because it is similar to ours (Eisenhower). When it comes to Arkansas, McGregor said that the coaching change did not affect his recruitment at all. In fact, he still remains at the top of the list. "At first coach (Houston) Nutt was recruiting me," McGregor said in a previous interview. "But the new coach (Bobby Petrino) told my coach that I am still one of their top recruits." He said he will attend camps at both Arkansas and LSU, but does plan to make an unofficial appearance in Norman. McGregor spoke briefly on LSU as well. Though his ties seem to be strong to Arkansas, the Tigers could play a major role in his recruitment. "I would like to get an LSU offer," McGregor said. "I have loved that school since I was a kid." In his junior season, McGregor rushed for 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns. On the receiving end, he caught 32 passes for 642 yards and seven touchdowns.
