Alvin Hines Adds SEC Offer

Alvin Hines Adds SEC Offer

Alvin Hines, safety from Pelham, (Ala.), received his first scholarship offer from the Auburn Tigers. He waited a while for another school to pull the trigger. Hines talked with Scout.com about the latest news...

"I was offered by Kentucky on Friday," Alvin Hines informed Scout.com. "This is my second offer. I was real excited about the offer. I didn't even know they were interested in me. It was really unexpected."

"I haven't really ever talked to them before. I emailed coach [Steve] Brown. He told me he wants to get me up there for a visit. He said they were really excited about offering me."

Hines is in the middle of baseball season and has not focused on football recruiting.

"I had a little shoulder injury," Hines said. "I have missed a few games, but I will be back soon. Our team has been doing very good."

"We went down to Gulf Shores for spring break and won the tournament down there. We start region play this week. We play Hueytown, Oak Mountain and Thompson."

Hines plans to hit the summer camp circuit with three SEC schools on the calendar and hopeful to hit a couple of other camps as well.

"I plan on going to a few one day camps," he said. "I am not going to do any of the three day camps. I plan on going to Auburn, Alabama and Georgia. I might go to Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech."
