One of the "Top Five" offensive line prospects needed only one official visit to know where he'd play his college football. Akim Millington decided on Oklahoma after a very good visit this past weekend.

Everything seemed to be in place for offensive lineman Akim Millington. The 6-foot-6, 320-pounder set all five of his official visits and he was ready to see which of the five schools was the best fit for him.

Turns out that the All-Midwest product from Wheaton (Ill.) North only needed one official visit to find his home for the next four years.

“I committed to Oklahoma.” Millington said. “I couldn’t find your number, I was trying to get in touch with you to give you the good news.

“I’m so happy right now. My visit was great. Davin Joseph was my host and we’re from the same part of Florida, so we had a lot in common.

“I called my (high school) coach and told him that I wanted to commit to Oklahoma and he said he was behind me 100% in my decision.

“I called coach (Bob) Stoops and gave him and (offensive line) coach Wilson the news. Coach Stoops told me all the coaches were doing back flips down the hall. I heard a bunch of hollering in the background after I gave coach Stoops the news.”

Millington is a “Top 5” offensive line prospect in the Midwest and he’s among the “Top 20” offensive line prospects nationally.

Millington led his team to a 10-0 record in 2002 and they play a second round play-off game this weekend against (7-3) Elmhurst (York).

Millington chose the Sooners over Iowa, Boston College, Wisconsin and Miami.
