Auburn Offers Tenn. Lineman
The last time we checked in with Daniel Hood, of Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic High School, he was seeking that first scholarship offer. Well today was the day as Hood received an offer from Auburn University. "It was pretty awesome," he explained about the offer to play at Auburn University. Hood does not have a preference as to which side of the ball he may play, and many schools are looking for either side. He explained, "People are recruiting me as an athlete because the Auburn coach said I am a really good defensive lineman, and a really good offensive lineman too." As far as his impressions of Auburn he said, "It was nice. I loved it. It's a real small town that is centered around football." "I met with Coach Dunn, and he seems like a really good coach. Auburn's defensive line has been really good to them. Tommy Tuberville is a really good coach." Hood also spoke to us about his experiences so far in the recruiting process. "We really want to send my film out to a lot of schools," he said. "I've talked to Colorado, and they liked it. I've talked to Tennessee, and they liked it too. I got a call from Auburn last night, and they loved it. They are sending an offer next week." "I've just got to continue to work hard. Spring practice is coming up, and I know there will be scouts from other schools." Even though Auburn was the first to pull the trigger they are not the only ones after this talented prospect. "I think I am going to Tennessee April 5th," Hood said. "I think I'm going to try to go to one or two football camps this summer just to get my name out there."
