Tommy Pizzurro made the transfer from Iona Prep in New Rochelle, N.Y., to St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida a while back and so far it looks as though that move has helped him garner a little more interest. The offensive linemen will certainly have to battle more then ever to earn a starting spot as a senior at Aquinas, however he is confident he’ll do that.
Tommy Pizzurro
, a 6-foot-2.5, 285-pound center from St. Thomas Aquinas High School is waiting on his first offer to come through right now and with the road trip he has set up over the next several weeks he’ll certainly put himself closer to that goal. Pizzurro walked us through his upcoming itinerary recently.
“I have my schedule of visits set up for the next month already,” Pizzurro said. “I will be at
Auburn
on March 29th,
UCF
on April 6th,
Alabama
on April 12th,
Penn State
on April 19th and finally
Maryland
on April 26th.”
The native New Yorker has already been in contact with a number of coaches.
“I went to
Florida
last Friday and watched their practice on Saturday,” Pizzurro explained. “I talked to Coach
Steve Addazio
and Coach
John Hevesy
and they both sounded very interested in me. They want me to come to camp this summer and show them what I can do.”
“I like the school a lot because it’s very nice, it’s very big and there is a lot to do on and around the campus,” Pizzurro added. “They are working on the facilities which are already awesome and I also got to meet with Head Coach
Urban Meyer
who talked to me for a while. It was a good visit.”
“Alabama and Penn State are two other schools that are showing me a lot of interest lately,” Pizzurro stated. “Alabama said they liked my film a lot and want to see me at their spring game and Penn State says I have all the attributes needed to play for them and liked my film a lot.”
