The Philadelphia Catholic League is always competitive and while Archbishop Carroll usually isn’t the biggest threat on the football field this year they should be. They have a duo of talented linemen this year and a senior quarterback in Luke Wischnowski that can be as dangerous with his feet as he can be with his arm. | |||

Luke Wischnowski, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback from Radnor, Pa., completed 68 of 122 passes for 1200 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions last season and also carried the ball 153 times for 730 yards and nine touchdowns. With his exceptional grades the Ivy League programs have already come calling, but he has been picking up some I-A level interest as well. “All of the Ivy League schools have been showing me interest and I want a great education,” Wischnowski said. “Princeton, Cornell and Yale are really the ones standing out right now. I’m also hearing from other programs like Temple, Georgia Tech, Akron, Army, Navy and Syracuse right now.” “I plan on visiting a lot of these schools in the spring and summer,” Wischnowski explained. “I am also very interested in the military academies, so Army and Navy will be two programs I really look into. My teammate Kevin Eckel went to Navy as did his older brother Kyle who plays for the Patriots now.” As a junior, Wischnowski was voted second-team All-League, honorable mention All-County, honorable mention All-City and first-team All Main-Line. He reports a 4.0 core GPA and scored a 1780 on his three-part SAT. |
